Czech Bikes for Ukraine
We collect used bikes from Czechia and transport them to Ukraine.
Do you have a bicycle at home that you no longer use? Give it a meaningful second life! We collect bicycles of all kinds. Grandma's folding bikes, children's bikes, or mountain bikes for the woods... we can use them all.
What do we do?
We are an independent group of volunteers who want to help Ukraine in the way we can. Some of us build websites, some fix bikes, others organize and transport... We love bikes and care about what’s happening in Ukraine and the world.
We collect second-hand donated bicycles in Prague and throughout Czechia, and if necessary, we repair them. They are then transported to Ukraine, where they are distributed for free to people who need them.
Who is it for?
We have several groups of people to whom we will deliver the bicycles. A large portion goes to non-profit organizations that use them for their social workers and healthcare professionals. Children's bicycles are intended for children from orphanages and others who cannot afford them. Some bicycles are also distributed directly to people in smaller communities in Eastern Ukraine, where those most affected by the war reside.
The availability of public transportation is very poor or non-existent in many parts of Ukraine. Many people cannot afford to operate cars and expensive fuel. On damaged roads, a bicycle is often the best mode of transportation.
How to get involved?
There are several options:
